We’ve been through this before and the destination is clear.

A Society with high energy cost and unreliable power will destabilize and can not compete.

An Economy rife with unpredictability and risk can not invest in its future.

A Planet on which a billion people or more are migrating to survive climate chaos can not maintain continent spanning energy systems.

The basic logic is clear. If we can not do the simple, don’t pray for a moon shot miracle.

We have the technology required today. Time is against us. But by creatively working with the motivated and willing, we can and will accelerate events.

This requires aligning capital, policy, technology, science, and entrepreneurial get it done will power. It requires bold, sensible action. It requires the honesty to avoid comfortable failure modes. Blending vigorous new ways of working with the strength of the established.

And yes, it probably requires you.

Dear Reader,

Grid Science is a Mission founded on experience guiding global companies through technology upheaval and an earlier military background. I deeply care about keeping the lights on during the coming upheaval, advanced civilization thriving, and have committed everything to do so.

I see wildfire smoke span continents. Live in a neighborhood with a failing, dangerous distribution grid. Watch electricity bills sky rocket, hurt families, and destabilize societies. See clearly as others do that the utility business model is failing and defense only stalls the inevitable.

Capitalism itself will fail as risk runs wild and investment hurdles become insurmountable. Not Good – to say the least.

So choose to do something about it. We have proven technology and are capable fixing this. I am far from naive. Simply believe that we can do it together and have the courage to do the obvious and necessary.

Let’s always be honest concerning reality. People don’t believe in Utilities. Yet there are few things more important and urgent to get right then Electrifying. And that change is happening – time now.

To be clear – We support a thriving, healthy, and dynamic utility industry. We do this by delivering the foundational technologies to support the emerging industry business model.

Although most will be on the losing side of events because of old notions and bias. Don’t let that be you. Business has been down this road countless times before. History is clear how this plays out – Incumbents do not win Transitions. And utilities that try to play catch up will fall to the wayside – a view shared by Warren Buffet. The same is true for industry stalwarts.

Also, I recognize other major problems we face. Wealth inequality and old control structures that are corrosive to human potential. Save the world tech-ego-hubris and false escapist fantasies. Exclusion of wisdom and expertise. So many leadership failures seemingly everywhere.

Grid Science operates with a disciplined mission focus while taking care of each other. We intentionally team across the countries we serve, cultivating beneficial generational wisdom, and breadth of experience.

We pull and push together expecting only the very best. There can’t be any question why we sacrifice our countless long days and nights. So I’ve taken a personal stand for moral clarity – it is not for me, not to make me wealthy. I’ve allocated 80% of my equity to foundations tackling other major challenges we confront. Energy is only one part of the equation.

We do this for you, your family, our shared humanity, and a good green Earth.
